Armenian State University of Economics

Armenian State University of Economics serves as a major public university located in Yerevan which functions as Armenia's capital city. The university represents the largest state-funded institution in Armenia that provides economic sciences education which serves as the primary center for academic research and community development. The university established its foundation in 1930 when it started as an economics faculty at Yerevan State University. The institution underwent multiple governing changes until it achieved independence in 1975 when it became the Yerevan Institute of National Economy. The institution experienced a second foundation which enabled it to pursue both academic expansion and research development throughout the late Soviet period. The university underwent further development after Armenia gained independence when it adopted its present name in 2006 to show its role as a complete state university which supports both economic research and national progress.
