Universidad de las Americas

The University of the Americas is a private, autonomous Chilean university. It has three campuses and seven campuses, four in Santiago, Chile, one in Viña del Mar, and two in Concepción.

The Universidad de las Américas (UDLA) was founded in 1988 by a group of Chilean entrepreneurs who were inspired by the model of American universities. The UDLA began its academic activities in 1989 with a small number of students and a limited number of programs. However, the university quickly grew in popularity and size.

In 1997, the UDLA was declared autonomous by the Chilean government, which gave it the freedom to set its own academic standards and curriculum. The university has since become one of the most prestigious private universities in Chile.

The UDLA has a strong focus on innovation and internationalization. The university has partnered with leading universities from around the world to offer joint degree programs and student exchange opportunities. The UDLA is also a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU).

Today, the UDLA is the second largest university in Chile by enrollment.
