University of New York Tirana stands as an esteemed private educational institution which operates from its central location in Tirana, the capital city of Albania. The institution was founded in 2002 as part of the New York College Network, a collaborative effort between Mr. Elias Foutsis and the university’s first rector, Prof. Dr. Gramoz Pashko. The university established itself to create a regional educational system which would provide students with both liberal arts education and cross-cultural knowledge. The Turkish Maarif Foundation acquired the university in 2018 which became a key moment for the institution because it opened new possibilities for institutional development through its international educational network and infrastructure investments.
