Yerevan State Medical University

Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU), also known as Mkhitar Heratsi Yerevan State Medical University, is a public medical university located in Yerevan, Armenia. It is one of the most prestigious medical schools in Armenia and the region, and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Medical Council of India (MCI).

It was founded in 1921 as the Yerevan State Medical Institute, it was the first medical school in Armenia and the Caucasus region.

YSMU was renamed after the renowned Armenian physician and scientist Mkhitar Heratsi in 1995. The university has played a vital role in the development of Armenian medicine and healthcare, having trained over 100,000 doctors, dentists, and pharmacists since its founding.

YSMU is now one of the leading medical universities in Armenia and the region, and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Medical Council of India (MCI).
