Proud Badges and the University Leaderboard: How They Work

Proud Badges and the University Leaderboard: How They Work

Are you proud of your university? Now you can show it. With a free Proud badge from AllUniversity, students, alumni, parents and staff can tell the world where they belong and share it on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, X, Threads and LinkedIn. Every badge also helps your university climb the University Leaderboard, a live ranking of the universities whose people are proudest of them.

It is free, takes about 30 seconds, and you don't need an account. This guide explains how badges and the leaderboard work, step by step.

What Is a Proud Badge?

A Proud badge is a personal image that says, for example, "Proud Student of University of Dhaka". It shows:

  • your name, if you add one;
  • how you are connected to the university;
  • the university and its country;
  • your class year, if you are a student or graduate;
  • a round AllUniversity seal with the badge year, such as 2026 Proud Badge.

Four kinds of people can make one, and each gets its own headline:

  • Students: "Proud Student of …"
  • Alumni: "Proud Alumni of …"
  • Parents of students: "Proud Parent at …"
  • University staff: "Proud to Work at …"

A badge belongs to one university and one year. You can make one badge per university each year, and you can make badges for more than one university, for example where you studied and where your child studies now. Each January a new year begins, and you can make a fresh badge for the new year.

Badges are made by members of the public. They are self-declared and are not issued or endorsed by the university.

How to Make Your Badge

  1. Open the badge page. Go to alluniversity.info/proud. You can also follow the Get Your Badge link on the home page, a country page or a university page.
  2. Choose your country and university. Start typing to find them quickly.
  3. Say how you are connected: Student, Alumni, Parent or Staff.
  4. Add your class year (students and alumni only). This is the year you graduate or graduated. It is optional, so leave it empty if you prefer.
  5. Add the name to show on your badge (optional). Use the name you want people to see, such as your first name and an initial. Names must use English letters (A–Z), spaces, periods, hyphens or apostrophes.
  6. Pick a theme. The first six themes are photo themes: a campus picture at the top, which you can replace with your own photo, and your details below a curved band in your theme's colour. The other six are plain themes in the same six colours: navy, green, maroon, black, violet and ivory.
  7. Select Create My Badge. Your badge is ready in a moment, on its own page with its own link.

Tip: without an account, the badge is linked to your browser, so you can come back to it and change it from the same device. If you sign in, you can save it to your account and manage it from any device. See "Keep Your Badge in Your Account" below.

Add Your Own Photo

Make your badge truly yours with a graduation photo, a selfie on campus or a picture with friends.

  1. On your badge page, find the Add Your Photo box under the badge.
  2. Drag a photo onto the box, or select Choose Photo. JPEG, PNG and WebP photos work.
  3. Your photo appears on the badge straight away. Drag the badge, or use the arrow keys on it, to move your photo, and use the Zoom slider above the badge to make it larger.
  4. On a plain theme, choose Subtle or Bold to set how strongly the theme colour shows over your photo.
  5. Changed your mind? Select Remove Photo to go back to the original badge, or Choose Photo again to try another.

Your photo stays private. It is never uploaded to AllUniversity: everything happens in your browser, and refreshing the page clears it. Only the images you download or share through Instagram include your photo. The Facebook, WhatsApp, X, Threads and Copy Link buttons share your badge page, which always shows the badge without your photo.

Share Your Badge

Your badge page has everything you need under Share Your Badge:

  • Facebook, WhatsApp, X and Threads share a link to your badge page, which shows a preview of the badge.
  • Instagram posts images only from its app. On your phone, the button opens your phone's share options with the badge attached, so pick Instagram from the list. On a computer, it downloads the image for you to post from the Instagram app.
  • Copy Link copies your badge page's address, to paste anywhere.
  • Download Feed Image (4:5) saves a portrait image that feeds on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn show in full.
  • Download Story Image (9:16) saves a tall image for stories and WhatsApp status.

Change or Remove Your Badge

  • Change the theme: open Change Theme on your badge page, pick a new look and select Save Theme.
  • Remove the badge: select Remove This Badge. Its page stops working, and it no longer counts for your university.

Keep Your Badge in Your Account

You don't need an account to make a badge. Signing in helps in three ways:

  • You can manage your badges from any device, not just the browser you made them in.
  • Your badge appears on your public profile.
  • You can rate your university and help it climb faster (see below).

If you made a badge before signing in, open it while signed in and select Save to My Account. Rating your university from the badge page also saves the badge to your account.

To keep things fair, each device and network can make a limited number of badges for the same university each day without an account. After that, you'll be asked to sign in.

The University Leaderboard

The University Leaderboard ranks universities by the pride and feedback of their people. Every badge, rating and review earns the university points.

How Points Work

  • 1 point: make a Proud badge.
  • 3 points: rate the university in 5 taps.
  • 10 points: write a review of the university.

Each person counts once per university, at their highest level. If you make a badge and then rate the university, it gets 3 points from you, not 4. If you later write a full review, it gets 10.

The number of stars you give does not change the points. A university climbs because many people take part, not because of high scores, so you can always rate honestly. Ratings and reviews still help other students choose: they appear on the university's page and feed AllUniversity's University Match.

Rate Your University in 5 Taps

  1. Open your badge page and sign in if you haven't already.
  2. Under Next Step, open Rate in 5 Taps.
  3. Give stars for Overall (required), and if you like for Academics, Campus Life, Career Outcomes and Value for Money.
  4. Save. Your university earns 3 points, and you can edit your ratings any time.

Want to give your university the full 10 points? Write a review on the university's Reviews page and share what it's really like.

Ranking Order

Universities are ranked by points. When two have the same points, the one with more written reviews comes first, and after that they are listed alphabetically.

The Boards

  • This Year: the main board. It counts this year's badges, plus ratings and reviews written this year, and starts afresh every 1 January, so every university gets a new chance each year.
  • All Time: every badge, rating and review ever, for the long-term picture.
  • Past years: the final standings of earlier years stay available, and each board shows the previous year's top results under the list.
  • World and country boards: the world board shows the top 100 universities. Every country also has its own full board, so you can see where your university stands at home. Use the country box at the top of the leaderboard to switch.

You'll also find your university's standing on its own page and on your badge page, for example "#2 in United States in 2026", together with how many proud members it has. The home page and each country page show the current top 5.

Points update within minutes of a new badge, rating or review.

Help Your University Climb

  1. Make your badge. It's 1 point, in 30 seconds.
  2. Share it, and ask your classmates, friends and family to make theirs.
  3. Rate your university in 5 taps for 3 points.
  4. Write a review for 10 points.

Every person counts. Get your Proud badge today and show the world where you belong.
