Belarusian National Technical University

The Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) is the largest technical university in Belarus, located in Minsk, the capital city.

The Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) was founded on December 10, 1920, as the Belarusian State Polytechnic Institute (BSPU) on the basis of a Minsk Polytechnic school. The establishment of the BSPU was a response to the need for highly qualified technical personnel to help rebuild the Belarusian economy after the First World War.

In the early years, the BSPU offered a limited number of programs in engineering and technology. However, the university grew rapidly in the 1930s, and by the outbreak of World War II, it had become one of the leading technical universities in the Soviet Union.

During World War II, the BSPU was heavily damaged, and many of its faculty and students were killed or taken prisoner. However, the university was rebuilt after the war and continued to grow and develop.

In 1991, the BSPU was renamed the Belarusian State Polytechnic Academy. In 1997, it was granted the status of a leading engineering educational institution in the Belarusian educational system. In 2002, it was renamed the Belarusian National Technical University.

Today, the BNTU is the largest and most prestigious technical university in Belarus.The BNTU has played a significant role in the development of the Belarusian economy and society. Its graduates have held leading positions in government, industry, and academia. The university is also a major source of innovation and technological advancement in Belarus.
