University of East Sarajevo

The University of East Sarajevo (UES) is a public university located in Lukavica, East Sarajevo, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The University of East Sarajevo was founded in 1992 during the Bosnian War, when ethnic Serb professors and students left the University of Sarajevo. The university was initially located in Pale, a town in the eastern part of Republika Srpska, but moved to its current campus in Lukavica in 1995.

The university's early years were difficult, as it was struggling to establish itself and provide its students with a high-quality education in the midst of a war. However, the university persevered and grew rapidly in the years after the war.

In 1998, the university was accredited by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska. In 2001, it was accredited by the Higher Education Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2007, the university became a member of the European University Association (EUA).

Today, the University of East Sarajevo is a leading institution of higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The university is committed to providing its students with a high-quality education that prepares them for success in their chosen fields. It also plays an important role in the development of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.
