Anhui University

Anhui University is a prominent public university located in Hefei, Anhui Province, China.

The university boasts a rich history marked by both change and consolidation. Founded in 1928 in Anqing city, the university initially set its roots there. However, in 1952, it underwent a significant shift. The university relocated to Hefei, but this move came with a temporary division. Anhui University was split into two separate institutions: Anhui Agricultural College and Anhui Normal University, each specializing in their respective fields. This separation didn't last long. In 1958, the Anhui provincial government decided to reunite the disciplines and officially rebuilt Anhui University in Hefei. Since then, the university has flourished, becoming a key comprehensive provincial institution and earning recognition through government programs like the Double First Class University Plan. Today, AHU stands tall as a testament to its dynamic past and commitment to academic excellence.
