Hebei Normal University

Hebei Normal University is a public research university in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, China.

The story of this esteemed university stretches back to the early 20th century, with roots in two separate institutions. In 1902, the seeds were sown with the establishment of the Shuntian School in Beijing. Focused on teacher training, it aimed to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to shape young minds. Just four years later, another crucial piece of the puzzle emerged – the Beiyang Women's Normal School, founded in Tianjin in 1906, played a pioneering role in women's education.

These two institutions, though geographically separated, laid the groundwork for the future university. The course of history shifted in 1952, with the establishment of the Hebei Education Institute. This new entity served as a significant milestone, consolidating educational resources and laying the foundation for further development. Recognizing the growing need for qualified teachers, the Hebei Teachers University and Hebei Teachers College merged in 1996. This pivotal moment marked the birth of the university in its current form – Hebei Normal University.
