Hubei University is a public university in Wuhan, Hubei, China.

In 1931, the seeds of a prominent university were sown in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, with the establishment of the Hubei Provincial Education College. This marked the humble beginnings of an institution destined for a dynamic evolution. The early years were characterized by a sense of flux. The college grappled with finding a permanent location, undergoing several relocations and name changes throughout its first five decades. It functioned as the Hubei Teachers Vocational School, Wuhan Teachers College, and Hubei Teachers Vocational College before finally solidifying its identity in 1984 as the university we know today.
