Northwest Normal University

Northwest Normal University is a public university in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China.

This prestigious university boasts a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. Its predecessor, established in 1902, was a normal school, which aimed to train educators. Over the following decades, it underwent several transformations, even merging with other institutions during wartime.  In 1939, it gained independence and relocated to its current home in Lanzhou City. Throughout the mid-20th century, it solidified its reputation as a key normal institute under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education. Finally, in 1958, it earned its current designation as a university.
