Sanda University

Sanda University, also referred to as Shanghai Sanda College, is a private institution in Shanghai, China.

The seeds of this private university were sown in June 1992, a time of great change for China. As Shanghai's Pudong District underwent rapid development, a group of distinguished professors from prestigious institutions like Shanghai Jiaotong University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University envisioned a new kind of learning space. Their dream was to establish the first full-fledged private institution of higher education in Shanghai.

The institution officially came to life in August 1992, initially receiving approval from the Shanghai Higher Education Bureau. The following years were dedicated to establishing a strong foundation. In February 1994, with the National Education Commission's green light, the university was formally recognized. March 2002 marked a significant milestone. After a thorough evaluation, the Ministry of Education granted the institution the prestigious status of a full-time general undergraduate college, making it the first private college in Shanghai to achieve this distinction. This recognition solidified the university's position as a pioneer in private higher education in the city.

Beyond academics, the university boasts a vibrant campus life.
