Tongling University

Tongling University is a provincial multi-disciplinary full-time university located in Tongling City, Anhui Province, China.

his university's history began in 1978, sprouting from the seeds of a more specialized institution. Its initial focus was on equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the fields of economics and management.  This emphasis on practical, career-oriented education laid the foundation for its future growth. Over the next two decades, the institution underwent a period of significant transformation. By the year 2000, it had merged with two other institutions, one specializing in metallurgical industry studies and another focused on teacher education. This strategic move broadened its academic scope considerably.  Two years later, in 2002, it achieved the prestigious status of an ordinary undergraduate college. The new millennium ushered in a new era for the university. In 2008, it took a pioneering role within its province by becoming the first institution designated as an application-oriented undergraduate college. This designation recognized its commitment to providing students with a practical education that equips them with the skills needed to thrive in the workforce.
