The Chinese University of Hong Kong (香港中文大学) offers instruction in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. It was founded in 1957 with the goal of forming a bridge between the western world and China. Education is both formal and non-formal in order to nurture the “whole person.”
There are eight faculties organized into 61 departments. Programs offered include arts, business administration, education, engineering, law, medicine, science, and social science. In addition, research is conducted in Chinese studies, biomedical sciences, information sciences, economics and finance, and geoinformation and earth sciences.
