The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is also known as HKUST. It is located in Clearwater Bay, Hong Kong. They have over 12,000 students who work in fields that include Science, Engineering, Business & Management, and Humanities & Social Science.
HKUST opened its doors for the first time to students in 1991. The idea for the school was the brainchild of the Governor of Hong Kong at the time, Sir Edward Youde, and Dr. Hon Sze-Yuen Chung. These men realized that Hong Kong urgently needed a school to propel it toward an economy that was knowledge-based. The school has seen a great deal of success in its short life.
