Brawijaya University
Brawijaya University (UB) is one of the state universities (PTN) in Indonesia located in Malang, East Java.
The history of Brawijaya University can be traced back to 1957, when it was established as a branch of the University of Sawerigading Makassar in Malang, East Java. The branch had two faculties: Law and Economics.
In 1961, the branch was granted the name Universitas Brawijaya (Brawijaya University) by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. The name is derived from the title of the kings of Majapahit, a great kingdom in Indonesia from the 12th to 15th centuries.
On January 5, 1963, Brawijaya University was officially inaugurated as a state university. This date is celebrated as the university's anniversary.
Brawijaya University has four campuses, all of which are located in the city of Malang, East Java. The largest campus is the Ketawanggede campus, which is home to the majority of the university's faculties and facilities. The other three campuses are the Dieng campus, the Kediri campus, and the Jakarta campus.
