Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) is one of Indonesia's leading public universities, located in Surabaya, East Java. Its history dates back to the 1950s through teacher education institutions that later evolved into the Institute of Teacher Training and Education (IKIP) Surabaya. In 1999, following the Indonesian government's higher education reform, IKIP Surabaya officially transformed into Universitas Negeri Surabaya, expanding its academic mandate beyond teacher education into a comprehensive university offering diverse fields of study. Today, UNESA continues to uphold its strong educational heritage while embracing innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
