Haigazian University

Haigazian University is a private and liberal arts university founded in the center of Beirut, Lebanon. The establishment belongs to the Armenian Evangelical group and consists of various undergraduate and graduate programs conducted mostly in English. The University is officially licensed by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education and provides its students with a liberal environment focused on academic achievement, moral values, and intercultural understanding.

The University was established in 1955 by two associations: the Armenian Missionary Association of America and the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East. In honor of the outstanding Armenian educator Dr. Armenag Haigazian, the university took its name. Initially, Haigazian College was opened in order to train teachers and to assist the Armenian diaspora. Later the institution expanded its range of disciplines and grew up to be a full-fledged university welcoming students from different religions and cultures without losing its heritage. Thus, Haigazian University became an integral part of the culture and education of Beirut providing its liberal arts programs and community services. Promoting critical thinking, leadership skills, and mutual respect among people, the university prepares its students to successful careers in various spheres of work.
