Modern University for Business and Science

Modern University for Business and Science is a private, nonprofit educational institution with its head office located in Damour, Lebanon and other campuses located in Beirut, Aley, Semkanieh and Rashaya. Being licensed and accredited by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education, this university provides various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by four distinct faculties at MUBS; the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. MUBS has adopted an education system that puts students at the center of everything.

The institute was founded in the year 2000 in Damour under its previous name, namely the Middle East Canadian Academy of Technology (MECAT). It was formed by an ensemble of educators who were spearheaded by Dr. Hatem Alamy, who had the idea of forming an institution that would be capable of transcending all regional and political barriers through providing easily accessible and relevant higher education to communities that were in need. With the development of its educational curriculum, the institution gained the recognition of being a full university and changed its name accordingly. Through the years that followed, MUBS continued to grow its geographical reach and opened its regional branches in Mount Lebanon and Bekaa Valley, as well as establishing collaborations with European and North American universities. Presently, the MUBS is playing an important part in the Lebanese private higher education system with focus on civic responsibility, innovation in research, and sustainability goals. As such, through the National Wellness Network (NWN) and participation in the UN Global Compact Network, MUBS has been involved in community development, youth empowerment, and health-related research in both rural and urban areas.
