Phoenicia University

Phoenicia University is a not-for-profit, private, and non-denominational higher learning institution located at Daoudiye in the Zahrani district of Southern Lebanon. The PU enjoys authorization from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of Lebanon to offer accredited bachelor's degrees in six major colleges, namely College of Architecture and Design, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Engineering, College of Law and Political Science, and College of Public Health. On the model of the American credit-hour system, the PU emphasizes outcome-based learning, career-orientedness, technologically-based approach, and ethical leadership.

PU was founded in 2012 after the signing of the Presidential Decree No. 9089 under the name of Phoenicia University International. The construction of its main campus concluded in the summer of 2015 when five out of six of its schools started giving academic education in September of that year, and the School of Architecture started working in 2016. At the very beginning, the university intended to help people in Southern Lebanon to access the equal education with high standards managed by the international professors and industry experts. In time, the institution has been developing its programs, creating research initiatives in the region and gaining the accreditation from international organizations to improve its students' chances of employment. Nowadays, Phoenicia University is an active academic and civic center in South Lebanon. Thanks to good relations with industries, entrepreneurship centers, and constant updating of the curriculums to match the market needs, the university guarantees that its graduates will be ready to work in both national and international labor markets.
