Université la Sagesse

Université la Sagesse, alternatively known as Sagesse University or Université de la Sagesse, is a Catholic private university located in Furn El Chebbak, Greater Beirut, Lebanon. ULS is managed by the Maronite Archdiocese of Beirut and accredited by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education, providing students with accredited undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate level degrees in various faculties such as Law, Canon Law, Business Administration and Finance, Health Sciences, Political Sciences, and Hospitality Management. With its commitment to humanistic and Christian principles, the institution integrates academic excellence, ethics, and civic mindedness in a culturally diverse campus setting.

This educational establishment is said to have been founded way back in 1875, where Archbishop Ephrem Ge हत्या (Geagea) and Monsignor Youssef Debs established the La Sagesse School of Law, making this among the oldest institutions for law in the Middle East. For many years now, this institution had been serving the country as one of the leading centers for law, producing generations of leading statesmen, legal scholars, and political leaders from this region. In order to meet the needs of increasing subjects of study and number of students, the Lebanese government conferred the status of a university on the institution through an act of the president in 1999. In the present day, Université La Sagesse continues to make an important contribution to the educational and legal life of Lebanon. Thanks to its numerous international links, in particular, with well-known universities in France and Europe, the university provides its students with the chance to receive degrees from two institutions and take part in exchange programs abroad. Université La Sagesse is still devoted to dialogue, social justice, and professionalism.
