Université Libanaise

Université Libanaise is the only public university in Lebanon for higher studies. Located in Beirut but having campuses and faculties throughout all Lebanese governates, the Lebanese University offers higher education on a broad range of disciplines, such as medicine, engineering, law, sciences, humanities, fine arts, business, and social sciences. Founded in 1951 by Lebanese scientists and public figures, first of all by means of the establishment of Higher Normal School (École Normale Supérieure), the Lebanese University developed gradually and now encompasses a variety of faculties and institutes located all over the country with an aim to ensure access to quality public higher education for everyone. At present, the Lebanese University performs an important function in the scientific and cultural environment of Lebanon, providing a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs and maintaining several research centers along with establishing international academic collaborations.
