Panamerican University

Panamerican University (Universidad Panamericana, commonly known as UP) is a private research.

The history of Panamerican University (Universidad Panamericana, commonly known as UP) can be traced back to 1967, when a group of wealthy and devout Catholic businessmen and academics, inspired by the University of Navarra and University of Salamanca, created the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas (English: Panamerican Institute for Executive Business Management), also known as IPADE.

IPADE was founded with the goal of providing high-quality business education to executives in Latin America. It quickly became one of the most prestigious business schools in the region.

In 1978, IPADE was granted university status and took the name Universidad Panamericana. The new university began with only two programs, Pedagogy and Administration.

In the following years, UP expanded rapidly, adding new schools and programs. By the early 1990s, UP had become one of the largest and most respected private universities in Mexico.

In 1993, UP opened its first campus outside of Mexico City, in Guadalajara. Since then, UP has opened campuses in Aguascalientes, León, Miami, Sweden, and Dubai.

Panamerican University is ranked as the #3 top university in Mexico during 2025. The rank is improved by 1 point from last year.
