Utrecht University is known in Dutch as Universiteit Utrecht, formerly Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht and is found in Utrecht, Netherlands. With over 30,000 students, it's one of the larger colleges in all of Europe. The major areas of study include Humanities, Social & Behavioral Sciences, Geosciences, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Science.
Founded in 1636, Utrecht University flourished during the 17th century, even though it was competing with older and more established colleges. In 1806, French-language people living in the Netherlands made Utrecht a mere high school, but after the Netherlands was established in 1813, it went back to its status as a college.
