King Faisal University

King Faisal University operates as a public research university which exists in the Al-Ahsa Oasis of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. The institution, which has operated since the earliest days of higher education in Saudi Arabia, functions as a key center of knowledge and cultural development for the local community through its extensive campus which combines traditional Saudi building styles with modern technological resources. The university promotes sustainable development with social responsibility through its academic programs which support environment protection and national knowledge economy development.

The university was established in 1975 by a royal decree and named in honor of the late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz, whose vision for educational advancement laid the groundwork for the institution. King Khalid bin Abdulaziz officially opened the institution which started with a limited number of colleges that targeted the main agricultural and medical requirements of the Eastern Province. The university expanded during its first decades as it developed from a regional specialized college into a complete university campus. The institution started its operations by using rented spaces and reached its current state through the development of a complete campus which represents the rapid educational development and modernization activities that have taken place throughout Saudi Arabia
