Burapha University
Burapha University (BUU) is a public university located in Saen Suk, Chonburi Province, Thailand.
Burapha University boasts a rich history dating back to 1955. It began its journey as the Bangsaen Educational College, established as the first regional tertiary institution outside Bangkok to promote teacher education. With an initial intake of 41 students, the college gradually expanded its scope. In 1974, it became a branch campus of Srinakharinwirot University and diversified its offerings beyond education.
By 1988, the Thai government recognized the need for a new university in the Eastern Seaboard region to support its industrialization plans. The Bangsaen campus was chosen for this transformation, and in 1990, it was officially upgraded to a full-fledged university and given the symbolic name Burapha, meaning "University of the East."
Since then, Burapha University has grown exponentially, establishing additional campuses in Chanthaburi and Sakaeo provinces. Today, it is a leading university in eastern Thailand, offering a comprehensive range of programs across diverse disciplines.
