Huachiew Chalermprakiet University
Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) is a university located in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand.
Huachiew Chalermprakiet University's roots stretch back to 1941 with the establishment of the Huachiew Hospital and Midwifery School. This initiative by the Poh Tek Sieng Tung Overseas Chinese Foundation, the largest charitable Chinese organization in Thailand, reflected their commitment to social good.
Fueled by a desire to expand their healthcare services, the foundation transformed the Huachiew Hospital into a general hospital in 1982. Alongside this development, the midwifery school evolved into Huachiew College, specializing in nursing education. This college continued to grow and in 1990, on the 80th anniversary of the Poh Tek Tung Foundation, a significant milestone was reached. Recognizing the college's contributions, the foundation successfully petitioned the University Bureau to elevate its status. In 1992, Huachiew College officially became Huachiew Chalermprakiet University, embarking on a new chapter in its educational journey.
