Mbarara University of Science & Technology (MUST) is a public university in Uganda, located in Mbarara, the largest city in the Western Region of Uganda.
The history of Mbarara University of Science & Technology (MUST) can be traced back to 1989, when it was founded as the School of Medicine at the Mbarara District Hospital. The school was established in response to the shortage of medical personnel in Uganda.
In 1990, the school was upgraded to a university and renamed Mbarara University of Science & Technology. The university's mission was to provide high-quality education and research in science and technology.
MUST has been a pioneer in science and technology education in Uganda. In 1992, MUST became the first university in Uganda to offer a degree program in computer science. MUST has also been a leader in research on tropical diseases and other health challenges facing Uganda.
MUST is a young university, but it has already made a significant impact on Uganda and Africa. The university is committed to providing high-quality education and research in science and technology, and to helping Uganda and Africa achieve their development goals.
