American University of Ras al Khaimah

American University of Ras Al Khaimah is an independent, non-profit, public institution of higher education that serves the entire UAE. The university is designed to deliver the educational model of North America while remaining closely tied to the cultural heritage of the Persian Gulf area. The campus is located in the most northern Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and it is a large academic facility. As a prominent academic institution in the North Emirates, AURAK has developed significant partnerships with both local and international companies to support the ongoing development of its academic community. The history of the university began in 2005 when it began operation as George Mason University's Ras Al Khaimah Campus. Following the decision to change campus operations His Royal Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah established AURAK in 2009 to meet the emirate's need for independent high-quality higher education. Since its establishment, the university has experienced rapid growth, evolving from its initial state to become fully independent. After AURAK was established, the institution has been moving forward towards success.
