The University of Manchester is located in Manchester, North West England, UK. Over 39,000 students call the campus home, studying in fields including Medical & Human Sciences, Engineering & Physical Sciences, Humanities and Life Sciences.
Re-formed in 2004, this college was the result of amalgamation of University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and Victoria University of Manchester. However, it traces its roots all the way back to 1824, and the Mechanics' Institute. It gained a royal charter by virtue of the affiliation with Victoria University.
