The University of Birmingham, sometimes simply called Birmingham, is located in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK. It is home to more than 26,000 students, majoring in fields that include Administration, Chemical Engineering, Economics, Education, Psychology and Theology.
Founded in 1900, the University of Birmingham traces its roots to the 1700's and the Birmingham Medical School founded at that time. It was known as Queen's College in the 1800's. Queen Victoria gave Birmingham a Royal Charter in 1900, and Mason University College also transferred to Birmingham. It has experienced periods of expansion since that time.
