The University of Leeds is also known as Leeds University or simply Leeds. It was established in 1884, following the merger of several other colleges. Its original name was The Yorkshire College. Leeds University is found in Leeds, Yorkshire, and the Humber, UK. It boasts doctorates in such diverse fields as science, religious studies, psychology, and history. Postgraduate degrees are awarded in Business, Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, and Accounting. Leeds University has over 33,000 students.

Founded in 1831 as a merger of other universities in the UK, Leeds was not given its official university title until 1887. It has partnerships with degree awards with Leeds Trinity University College and Leeds College of Arts.
