University of Surrey

University of Surrey stands as an esteemed public research university which operates from its campus in Guildford England inside the beautiful boundaries of Surrey county. The two-campus institution which includes Stag Hill and Manor Park provides a contemporary professional space that offers scenic views of hills and lakes. The university has established itself as a leading educational institution which emphasizes research development while working together with Surrey Research Park, one of United Kingdom's most successful science parks. The university functions as an essential link between the community and local businesses while its research excellence and innovative educational methods create worldwide scientific impact.

The institution began when Battersea Polytechnic Institute opened its doors to London residents for higher education in 1891. The institution received recognition as a College of Advanced Technology in 1956 but its London facilities became insufficient for its needs so the institution chose Guildford as its new location. The university received its official establishment through Royal Charter on September 9, 1966, which established it as an independent academic institution. The university transformed from its original polytechnic base into a global research university which developed satellite technology and telecommunications systems since it moved to its present location.
