Its origins date back to 1931 with the establishment of the Central Asian Institute of Railway Transport Engineers which was created to meet the growing industrial demands of the region. The institution experienced multiple transformations throughout its history which resulted in the establishment of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers and Tashkent Automobile and Road Institute. The presidential decree of May 2020 established a major merger which joined three historical institutes together with the Faculty of Aerospace Technologies from Tashkent State Technical University to establish Tashkent State Transport University. The consolidation process created a single educational hub equipped with advanced technology which enables educational institutions to solve modern transport industry problems while keeping their educational heritage from nearly a century ago.
