Van Lang University

Van Lang University is a prominent private higher education institution located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The university was named after the first ancient kingdom of the Vietnamese people because it upholds its educational mission through a complete ethical teaching system which operates under the principles of "Morality - Will - Creativity." The university operates its educational activities throughout its multiple modern campuses which include its main campus located in Binh Thanh District that features advanced educational facilities and environmentally sustainable building design. The university has recently achieved international recognition for its success which resulted in high placement during the 2026 QS Asia University Rankings and its designation as a Microsoft Showcase School because of its effective digital technology implementation throughout its campus.

The history of Van Lang University began on January 27, 1995, when it was officially established by the Prime Minister's decision as one of the very first private universities in Southern Vietnam. The institution held its first opening ceremony in September of that year, marking the start of a journey focused on providing lifelong learning opportunities during a period of significant social and economic transition in the country. The university operates two campuses because it opened its second campus in 2003 and then expanded its main campus to support its growing academic community development. The university established a new brand identity through its 2022 rebranding project which will help to achieve its goal of becoming an internationally recognized young university by 2030.
