Cavendish University Zambia

Cavendish University Zambia is a private university based in Lusaka, Zambia.

Founded in 2004, as a subsidiary of a well-established British institution, the university set about establishing international academic standards in Zambia. In its inception, the university greatly contributed to a turning point in the higher education sector of the country by offering a rare combination of global expertise and local relevance. This was the first private university in Zambia to embark upon its academic journey, setting a foundation for wider involvement by the private sector in higher education. The initiative helped to widen the avenues available to Zambian students in respect of academic endeavors. It is registered with the government-operated Higher Education Authority established under the Higher Education Act No. 4 of 2013. Registration of the institution ensures compliance with the national quality standards, thus enhancing its credibility in the Zambian academic landscape.
