Afghanistan Tertiary education in Afghanistan is supervised by the Ministry of Higher education. There are more than 27.5 million people living in this beautiful country, and about 14.9% are having higher education. University studies kicked off in 1932 after the establishment of Kabul University. English is the official language of communication and instruction. Each year, more than 25,000 students enroll into the tertiary institutions. We have 17 public universities, and 2 private universities. There are other technical institutes and colleges. Over 2,500 international students are studying here. Upon graduation, students can look for work in NGOs, specialized organizations, private jobs, and jobs in related field of study, but in most cases, you will be required to apply for a work permit.
