Queensland University of Technology serves as a major public research institution which operates from its Brisbane Australia campus. The university establishes its modern educational facilities through its two main inner-city campuses which include Gardens Point in the central business district and Kelvin Grove in the urban village. The organization approaches global challenges through its innovative infrastructure which includes the Science and Engineering Centre and The Cube which stands as one of the largest digital interactive learning spaces in the world.

The institution’s history is a tapestry of evolving technical and vocational colleges which originated from the founding of the Brisbane School of Arts in 1849. The foundation developed into different specialized institutions during the next hundred years which included Central Technical College and Queensland Teachers Training College. The establishment of Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) occurred in 1965 when the institution opened its facilities at Gardens Point. The Queensland University of Technology Act established university status for the institute which served as a transformative milestone in 1988. QUT commenced its operations in January 1989 which included a 1990 merger with the Brisbane College of Advanced Education.
