Ahlia University

Ahlia University (AU) is a private, not-for-profit university in Manama, Bahrain.

The history of Ahlia University can be traced back to the late 1990s, when a group of Bahraini businessmen and academics came together to establish a private university in Bahrain. The goal was to create a university that would provide high-quality education to Bahraini students and prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century.

In 2001, the Government of Bahrain issued a license to Ahlia University, making it the first private university in the country. The university opened its doors to students in February 2003, with an initial enrollment of over 100 students. Ahlia University has grown rapidly since its inception.
