Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) is the first specialized government digital university in Bangladesh. It was established in 2018 and is located in Kaliakair, Gazipur, Dhaka.

The journey of BDU began in 2016, fueled by the Bangladeshi government's ambitious vision of "Digital Bangladesh." Recognizing the crucial role of digital skills in the 21st century, the government sought to establish a specialized university dedicated to nurturing the next generation of IT professionals.

On July 26, 2016, the Bangladesh Parliament enacted a law, officially birthing BDU as the country's first government-run digital university. The university found its home in Kaliakair, Gazipur, conveniently located next to the Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park, a hub for IT and innovation.

BDU's doors officially opened to students in 2019, offering undergraduate programs in cutting-edge fields like Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotics Engineering, and Education Technology. The curriculum, designed with industry needs in mind, emphasizes practical skills and knowledge relevant to the ever-evolving digital landscape.

Recognizing the potential of online learning, BDU embraced a blended approach, incorporating online and distance learning modules alongside traditional classroom sessions.
