Bangladesh University of Business and Technology or BUBT is a private university in Bangladesh, located in Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
BUBT was established in 2003, modeled after the academic systems of North American universities. Founded by Dhaka Commerce College, Mirpur- 2, Dhaka, and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh, BUBT embarked on its journey with a vision to provide quality education and training in business and technology fields.
In its initial years, BUBT operated from the premises of Dhaka Commerce College. However, in 2004, the university shifted to its own permanent campus at Rupnagar R/A, Mirpur 2. Since then, BUBT has steadily grown, expanding its academic offerings and infrastructure.
BUBT's commitment to academic excellence has been consistently recognized. In 2011, UGC ranked BUBT as one of the best eight private universities in Bangladesh. The university is also a member of the prestigious Association of Commonwealth Universities, further solidifying its international standing.
