The story begins in the mid-1990s, when the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (BADAS) recognized the need for a medical institute tailored to the requirements of their flagship hospital, BIRDEM. This vision led to the proposal of the Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences (BIHS). After years of planning and preparation, BIHS finally blossomed into BUHS in mid-2012. Established under the auspices of BADAS, BUHS carried the torch of National Professor Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim's philanthropic philosophy, aiming to contribute meaningfully to Bangladesh's healthcare sector.
