Daffodil International University (DIU) was established on January 24, 2002 under the Private University Act of 1992. It was founded by the Daffodil Group, a leading business conglomerate in Bangladesh.

Daffodil International University (DIU) has a sprawling 150-acre campus in Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The campus is divided into several different academic and administrative zones, each with its own unique character.
