Rajshahi Science & Technology University (RSTU) is a private university in Natore, Bangladesh.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman understood the importance of quality higher education in building a knowledge-based economy in Bangladesh. To this end, the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was established on December 16, 1972, which was later incorporated as the highest autonomous institution of higher education through Presidential Order No. 10 of 1973. At that time, the activities of the UGC were to determine the financial needs and requirements of the then six universities.
