Technical University - Sofia

The Technical University of Sofia (TUS) is the largest and foremost academic establishment for higher engineering education in Bulgaria.
The Technical University of Sofia (TUS) was founded on October 15, 1945, as part of the Higher Technical School (later renamed to State Polytechnic). It became an independent institution in 1953, when the Polytechnic was divided into four separate technical institutes.

In the following decades, TUS expanded its programs to include other areas of engineering, science, and technology. The university also established a number of research centers and laboratories.
In 1995, TUS was granted university status and received its current name.

TUS is also a leading university in research and innovation. The university's researchers have made important advances in a wide range of fields, including energy, environment, materials science, and information technology.
TUS is a member of the European University of Technology (EUt+), a consortium of eight leading European universities of technology. EUt+ was established in 2019 to promote excellence in teaching, research, and innovation in engineering and technology.
