Andrés Bello University

Andrés Bello University (UNAB) was founded in 1988 as a private university in Chile. It is named after Andrés Bello, a Venezuelan humanist and educator who is considered to be one of the founding fathers of Latin America.

UNAB was one of the first non-traditional universities in Chile, and it was one of the first to offer a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in a variety of disciplines. The university quickly gained a reputation for its strong academic programs and its commitment to innovation.

In 1999, UNAB became the first private university in Chile to be accredited by the Chilean National Accreditation Commission (CNA). In 2003, UNAB was one of the first three private universities in Chile to be institutionally accredited by the CNA.
