Jilin University of Finance and Economics

Jilin University of Finance and Economics is a provincial public university located in Changchun, Jilin, China.

This esteemed university's roots trace back to 1946, when it began as a modest institution dedicated to financial education.  Its early forms included the Northeast General Headquarter Banking Training Class, Northeast Banking Leader School, and Northeast Banking Special School, reflecting its initial focus on training personnel for the financial sector.  Throughout the following decades, it transformed into Changchun Banking School, Jilin Finance and Trade College, and finally the Finance and Economics School of Jilin Province. Each iteration honed its expertise and expanded its academic offerings. A pivotal moment arrived in 1978 when the institution was renamed Jilin Financial and Trade College. This shift marked a broadening of its curriculum beyond just finance, incorporating trade and other business disciplines.  In 1992, the college came under the administration of the State Bureau of Taxation, further shaping its focus towards taxation expertise and leading to a name change to Changchun Taxation College.

The year 2000 marked a period of self-governance as the college transitioned to direct jurisdiction under the Jilin Provincial Government. This period of independence allowed it to solidify its academic foundation and establish itself as a leading provincial college. Finally, in 2010, after decades of dedication to providing high-quality education, the college achieved its long-held ambition – it was officially recognized as a university by the Ministry of Education of China.  This elevation to university status marked a culmination of its historical journey and a testament to its unwavering commitment to academic excellence.

The university boasts a vibrant campus life that fosters a well-rounded educational experience for its students. The sprawling green campus offers a serene environment conducive to learning. Beyond academics, the university provides ample opportunities for students to engage in extracurricular activities, cultural events, and social interaction.
