Zhejiang Normal University

Zhejiang Normal University is a well-regarded comprehensive public university in Jinhua city, Zhejiang province, China.

In 1956, the seeds of a prestigious educational institution were sown with the founding of the Hangzhou Normal Academy. This institution, initially focused on training future educators, embarked on a path of continuous development. Just two years later, in 1958, it transformed into Hangzhou Normal College, reflecting its expanding academic scope. Further growth arrived in 1962 through a significant merger with the Zhejiang Teaching College, leading to the formation of Zhejiang Normal College.

The year 1965 marked a pivotal shift as the college relocated to Jinhua, its current home. This move symbolized a new chapter in the institution's journey. However, the path to becoming a comprehensive university wasn't immediate. The following decades witnessed continued growth and development, culminating in achieving the status of a tertiary educational institution in 1980. Finally, in 1985, the college earned its present-day title – Zhejiang Normal University. This name change signified not just a new designation but also the culmination of years of dedication to academic excellence and a broadened range of disciplines offered.

The Zhejiang Normal University campus life thrives on a beautiful backdrop. Nestled beside the Shuanglong Cave national park, the main campus sprawls over 220 hectares, offering a green and spacious environment for students. With a total floor space exceeding a million square meters, the campus provides excellent facilities for learning and living.  The university also boasts a branch campus in the vibrant capital city of Hangzhou.

The university operates under a guiding motto that emphasizes the importance of both knowledge and character. It translates to "wisdom with virtue, integrity with innovation." This motto underscores the university's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who possess not just intellectual prowess but also strong moral grounding.
