American International University West Africa

American International University West Africa is a private university located in Serrekunda, The Gambia.

The institution's story begins in the early 2010s, with a vision to establish a prominent center for higher education in West Africa, specifically within The Gambia.  The founders recognized a growing need for accessible and quality education, particularly in fields like healthcare and business, which were crucial for the region's development. The year 2011 marked the official establishment of this new university.  From its inception, the focus was on creating a learning environment that could nurture future leaders and professionals.  The initial years were dedicated to building a strong foundation, which included securing necessary accreditations and developing comprehensive academic programs.
