The Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) is a public research university located in Berlin, Germany.

In 1879, the Royal Mining Academy, the Royal Building Academy, and the Royal Trade Academy were merged to form the Königlich Technische Hochschule zu Berlin (Royal Technical Academy of Berlin). In the early 20th century, TU Berlin was a major center of scientific and technological innovation.
